Heat Recovery Systems

Therma-Stor “hot plate” heat exchanger provides maximum heat transfer surface area while minimizing refrigerant pressure drop.
Stratified tank (water near the top is the hottest) makes for quick recovery and efficient heat transfer. And because it operates at a low temperature, a Therma-Stor tank is less prone to scaling, which can reduce efficiency.
The Therma-Stor is a “passive” device — no motors or pumps.
Can reduce “hot kitchen” problems by removing condenser-generated heat from area.
Compressors don’t need to work as hard in a cooler environment — less compressor and condenser fan run time.
Compact because it heats and stores water in a single unit.
The industrial glass-lined water storage tank resists corrosion and has two replaceable anodes for extra protection. Five-year warranty on the heat exchanger and water tank backed by established company.
Thoroughly tested and listed by Underwriter’s Laboratories, Inc. Meets all codes required for double-wall heat exchanger. CSA approved units available. 2″ or foam-in-place insulation (R16) meets ASHRE 90 standards.
Therma-Stor units are available in one, two, and six circuit designs. That means you can connect one to six compressors using different refrigerants to a single unit. Therma-Stor units can accommodate compressors from ½ hp to 100 hp or more. Auxiliary resistance backup is available.
By providing additional condensing surface, a Therma-Stor unit improves refrigeration efficiency. It reduces the heat discharged by an air-cooled condenser. Compressor efficiency goes up as temperatures go down. The end result is after cooling and prolonged compressor life. With water-cooled condenser, less cooling water is required. This means double savings–reduced water/sewage charges and reduced water heating costs.
